There are only a handful of restaurants in Sydney that I can say I have a long and colorful history with and Caffe Roma is one of them.

This restaurant and I, we’ve been through a lot! Awkward first dates, catch up’s with friends, work functions and even break ups. But after all of the ups and downs I keep going back, you know why? Because it’s my little slice of Italian Heaven.

From the fairy lights and greenery, candles and music, you’ll feel like you’ve teleported from the busy streets of Sydney, directly into the picturesque streets of Rome.

Besides me these guys have had all types of visitors, from local celebrities to international guests, politicians, students, residents to anyone who can appreciate the authenticity of a go...

Everyone is counting down the days for when we can exit hibernation mode, say goodbye to our anti-social selves and reunite with good company, good tunes and thirst quenching beverages.  

Majority of us imagine this initial “Catch up”, to be in a chilled environment, one that can perhaps cater up to a group of up to thirty people.

On a recent stroll through Darlinghurst, I stumbled across a little something that stopped me right in my tracks.I found Bloody Mary’s Sydney.

Bloody Mary’s Sydney is a newly established Bar/Restaurant located on Victoria Street in Darlinghurst.  

They are open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 7 days a week.

Roughly 9:00pm on Saturday night our sights were firmly set on finding Pocket Bar. This had been recommended to us by a friend who said “It’s cheeky” – what does that even mean when you’re referring to bar? That comment was intriguing.

As we walked into this venue the first thing we noticed was the graffiti-like street art on the walls. It was dimly-lit and had retro fitted decor throughout.

This bar definitely did have something cheeky about it, it had personality and after speaking to the staff we soon realized they also were interesting characters. Their vibrant personalities matched not only the bar but the menu.

 “Rhub an tug, awkward 1st date, take your clothes off” to name a few.

The intimate atmosphere would be perfect...
