PENINSULA EXCELSIOR HOTEL, SINGAPORE

Embarking on an adventure to Singapore was a new and exciting experience for me. I didn’t really have any expectations or know too much about the city - in the past those type of holidays have more often than not been the best!

We decided to stay at the Peninsula Excelsior Hotel which was the first of the two Peninsula’s. The hotel was under such high demand back in the 90’s that they needed to expand and join the two through a large and spacious lobby that looks upon a glorious large glass pool.

As we arrived we were escorted through to the lobby and given a debrief of the main things this spectacular hotel had to offer.

We were staying in the Premium Suite on the 17th floor, but did not expect the room to have such spectacular views of the city.

Singapore is a futuristic city, the architecture absolutely blew my mind! The entire city looks like something out of a modern art display.

Our room was a large spacious suite with a large bathroom with an actual bath, a cosy but comfortable lounge room seating area with the option of either a frontal view of the city (perfect for watching the 8 pm light display) or watching some in house movies. In addition, the very large and comfortable king size bed was like sleeping on a cloud - exactly what we needed.

The hotel has two large swimming pools, a restaurant serving traditional dishes along with westernised food, many bars and tours available by booking through the front desk.

The location was fantastic, as we were able to get to gardens by the bay for around $10AUD in a taxi and walk to the cinemas and shops. For those of you that don’t know, a lot of the shops are underground (kind of like Sydney’s Town Hall), except there are hundreds of stores and incredible restaurants along the way.

If you decide to stay at this hotel, another hot spot is the Sky Lounge. It is at the very top of the hotel and you will be able to see a 360 degree view of the city, whilst enjoying some amazing cocktails. Cocktails range from $15 - $25.

I ordered many Singapore Slings, as I felt that was fitting because we were in Singapore. If you have a look through the gallery you will see they looked amazing and tasted so delicious!

We organised a Night Safari Tour through the hotel, and the friendly staff also assisted us greatly on our day trips by pointing us in the direction of Clarke Quay and Marina Bay Sands.

Our entire Singapore experience was so amazing and I truly believe it was because we had so much assistance from the staff at the hotel.

We were able to relax in luxury, shop, dine and go sightseeing all thanks to the accommodating staff at Peninsula Excelsior.

Sometimes I need some guidance in the right direction, especially in a city I am not too familiar with, so I could not have been any more happier with the all-round service and experience we received at this hotel.
