POCKET BAR, DARLINGHURST
Roughly 9:00pm on Saturday night our sights were firmly set on finding Pocket Bar. This had been recommended to us by a friend who said “It’s cheeky” – what does that even mean when you’re referring to bar? That comment was intriguing.
As we walked into this venue the first thing we noticed was the graffiti-like street art on the walls. It was dimly-lit and had retro fitted decor throughout.
This bar definitely did have something cheeky about it, it had personality and after speaking to the staff we soon realized they also were interesting characters. Their vibrant personalities matched not only the bar but the menu.
“Rhub an tug, awkward 1st date, take your clothes off” to name a few.
The intimate atmosphere would be perfect for people seeking a quiet night in before a big night out.
This is somewhere you can go for the first time, but still feel right at home.
It’s a diverse crowd with ages varying anywhere between 25 – 40 years.
There was a large selection of drinks to choose from and the cocktails ranged between $18 -$22.
Our favorite was the Delicious Sour ($19)
Hungry? They serve a range of food that is all under $20
This place has history, it has character and its personality shines through every aspect of the venue. If you want to have a quiet catch up with your friends or even if you decide you wanted a night to fly solo, Pocket bar would be perfect place for you.
Thanks for having us!
